LIZTON -- The Greencastle girls' swim team defeated Tri-West 125-55 on Thursday night.

The Tiger Sharks dominated the night, winning all but one event en route to the victory.

Erica Soster earned four first place finishes for the Sharks in the 200-yard medley relay, 200-yard freestyle, 400-yard freestyle and the 100-yard freestyle. Natasha Aring was first in two events, the 200-yard IM and the 100-yard butterfly.

Amanda Bannon finished ahead of the pack in the 500-yard freestyle and Morgan Terry placed first in the 200-yard freestyle. Emma Hazel helped the 400-yard freestyle relay and the 200-yard medley relay earn first place finishes.

Caitlin Ganaway, swimming in her first 100-yard breaststroke, finished in first place on the night.

"It was a pretty solid meet for us," GHS head coach Luke Beasley said. "Some girls swam pretty well, but we're a long way from where we need to be. We need to keep improving and keep swimming faster.

"We have a big meet against Bloomington where hopefully some of our girls will post some season-best times," Beasley commented.

Greencastle will host Bloomington North at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
