Jewell E. "Sonny" Terry Jr.

Jewell E. "Sonny" Terry Jr., 68, Whiteland, died Sunday at Community Hospital South, Indianapolis.

Born Feb. 14, 1939 in Putnam County, he was the son of Jewell Emmitt and Kathryn Moreane (McCurry) Terry.

A member of the Southport Christian Church and Circle City Carvers, he performed machine maintenance at Allison Gas Turbine, Indianapolis.

He married Dee (Arnot) Terry on Feb. 27, 2004. She survives.

Also surviving are daughter Julie Ann Sims and husband Paul, Brazil; son James Patrick Terry, Cloverdale; stepsons Brent Jones and wife Mary Jane, Fillmore, and Vince Jones and wife Tina, Lawrenceburg; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Forest Hill Cemetery, Greencastle, with Rev. Doug Lofton officiating.

Visitation will be private.

Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale, is handling arrangements.
