Two accidents were investigated recently by the Putnam County Sheriff's Dept.

* At 9:55 p.m. Monday, a car hit a tree limb on CR 1200 South at CR 325 East.

Deputy Tom Helmer reported that Hanna McGuire, Poland, was driving a 1997 Eagle Talon westbound when she came upon a tree limb in the roadway. She said she swerved to avoid the limb but ran over it. She was no injured.

Damage was estimated at less than $750.

* At 6:55 a.m. Tuesday, a car lost control on West Walnut Street and struck a power pole.

Deputy Don Pettit reported that Hailey Lewis, Roachdale, was driving a 1992 Ford Tempo eastbound and was rounding the curve in front of the entrance to DePauw Nature Park. She lost control due to wet pavement and slid off the road, striking a power pole.

Damage was estimated at $1,000-2,500.

Putnam County Jail

Two people were booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

* Fount Thomas Brock, 25, Roachdale, was booked in at 4:40 p.m. Tuesday for violation of probation. He was arrested by Deputy Ronnie Campbell.

* Scott Eric Lane, 34, Greencastle, was booked in at 9:41 p.m. Tuesday for battery and disorderly conduct. He was arrested by Deputy Gregg Slover.
