Eagle junior high sweeps Eels
CLAY CITY -- The South Putnam Junior High School boys' basketball teams picked up a pair of wins on the road Monday, defeating Clay City in both contests.
The Eagle seventh grade won 42-14, while the eighth graders defeated the Eels 34-30.
Aaron Parker led the seventh grade with 15 points. Kinser Franklin and Nick Scott were next with six points each.
The defense was on display for the Eagles, as they did not allow more than five Eel points in any quarter.
The eighth graders were involved in a much closer affair, although they maintained their lead throughout the evening.
Rob Gibson led South with 14 points. Cole Stevens was next with six.
The Eagles are back in action at 6 p.m. today when they host Monrovia.
