Eagle grapplers lose to Quakers

PLAINFIELD -- The South Putnam wrestling team competed against Plainfield Wednesday night, narrowly losing to the Quakers 45-31. The Quakers gained 18 points due to South Putnam forfeits.

Scoring wins by pins were Seth Green at 135, Tom Migliano at 152 and Ben Parker at 215. Chris Hurst and Antonio Hernandez won by technical falls at heavyweight and the 130-weight division, respectively. At 189, Josh Sanders scored a minor decision victory.

The Eagles had forfeits at 103, 112 and 171 weight divisions.

In junior varsity action, D.J. Adams won by pin at 145.

The Eagles will next compete in the West Central Conference tournament at Cloverdale High School beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday.
