Putnam County Jail

Three people were booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

* At 12:09 a.m., Thursday, Diane Elaine Collins, 45, Greencastle, was book into the Putnam County Jail. Greencastle Police Officer Matt Huffman arrested Collins on charges of driving while intoxicated and she was released at 9:26 a.m. the same day on $3,000 surety bond.

* At 1:06 a.m. Friday, Brandie L. Williams, 30, Greencastle, was booked into the Putnam County Jail. Officer Huffman arrested Williams on a warrant. NO release date has been set.

* At 4:32 a.m., Friday, James R. Duguid, 19, Greencastle, was booked into the Putnam County Jail. Greencastle Police Officer Eric Vaughn arrested Duguid on charges of driving while intoxicated, possession of paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. Bond was set at 10 percent of $5,000 for each of the three charges. Duguid was released at 12:29 p.m. Friday.

Sheriff's Dept.

The Putnam County Sheriff's Department responded to several car accidents recently.

* At 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, Putnam County Sheriff's Deputy Gregg Slover responded to a deer vehicle collision on State Road 240 East near the intersection of County Road 400 East.

Denise H. Hayes, 52, Indianapolis, told the investigating officer that she was traveling east in a 1997 Mercedes C230 when a deer entered the roadway. Hayes reported that she attempted to avoid the animal but was unsuccessful. Complaining of head pain, Hayes was transported to the Putnam County Hospital. Damage was estimated at $5,001 to $1,000.

* At 6:00 a.m., Friday, Putnam County Sheriff's Deputy Donnie Pettit responded to a deer vehicle collision on State Road 42 West near the intersection of County Road 1200 South.

Loren Brown, 42, Poland, told the investigating officer that she was traveling north in a 2007 F-150, when a deer entered the roadway and she was unable to avoid a collision. Damage was estimated at $2,501 to $5,000.

* At 6:55 a.m., Friday, Dept. Donnie Pettit responded to a deer vehicle collision on U.S. 36 West near the intersection of County Road 490 West.

Rebecca Morgan, 52, Danville, told the investigating officer that she was driving east on U.S. 36, just east of Morton, when a deer entered the roadway and she was unable to avoid a collision. Damage was estimated at $750 to $1,000.
