John William Wrights­man, 76, Rockville, died Thursday at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.

Born in Guion, he was the son of William and Lola (Thomas) Wrightsman.

A 1949 graduate of Marshall High School, he was a farmer and worked at the A&P Grocery in Terre Haute. He served in the U.S. Army for two years, then worked at Olin's in Covington. He was a 50-year member of Waveland Masonic Lodge 300, a member of American Legion Post 48 at Rockville, and a member of Indiana Farm Bureau.

He married Mary E. Floyd on Feb. 15, 1952. She survives.

Also surviving are a son, John M. Wrightsman and wife Pam, Rockville; two brothers, Danny Wrights­man and wife Romell, Greencastle, and Jim Wrightsman, Rockville; two sisters, Betty Pratt, Rockville, and Theresa Jordan and husband Tom, Muncie; two grandchildren, six nieces and nephews, and nine great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Gooch Funeral home, Rockville, with Rev. David Wise officiating. Burial will be in Poplar Grove Cemetery, Marshall.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Saturday.
