Sheriff's Dept.

Two accidents were investigated recently by the Putnam County Sheriff's Dept.

* At 11:40 a.m. Saturday, a car slid on the ice and crashed near 3380 W. CR 350 North.

Deputy Dan Wallace reported that Sabrina M. Rouse, Greencastle, was driving a 2004 Dodge Durango westbound when she lost control due to icy roads. Rouse stated that she went off the left side of the roadway at the Roark residence, hitting two trees.

Damage was estimated at $1,000-2,500.

* At 11:40 p.m. Monday, a car hit a deer on CR 250 East at CR 800 North.

Deputy Tom Helmer reported that Judith K. Harris, Roachdale, was driving a 1987 Ford Econoline van northbound when a deer ran into the roadway, from a field and passed into the path of travel. Harris said the deer ran into the left side of the vehicle and then rolled onto the hood of the car and hit the windshield. The deer ran away without looking back. There were no injuries to the people in the car.

Damage was estimated at $1,000-2,500.

Putnam County Jail

Several people were booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

* At 4:07 p.m. Thursday, James Erwin Pipes, 26, Indianapolis, was booked in for failure to appear. He was returned to Marion County at 12:48 a.m. Friday.

* At 10:54 p.m. Thursday, Lewis Weinbrecht, 66, Cloverdale, was booked in for public intoxication and driving while intoxicated with blood alcohol of greater than .08. He was released at 7:44 a.m. Friday after posting bail.

* Brian David Mangin, 30, Bowling Green, was booked in at 2:07 a.m. Friday on a petition to revoke probation. He was arrested at PCJ.

* Joseph W. Taylor, 28, Cloverdale, was booked in at 2:23 a.m. Friday on a petition to revoke probation and battery with bodily injury. He was arrested at PCJ.

* Lindsey R. Snodgrass, 21, Greencastle, was booked in at 5:36 a.m. Friday for driving while intoxicated. She was arrested by Greencastle Officer Albert Epple.

* James O. Tiedemann, 39, Attica, was booked in at 11:39 a.m. Friday on a petition to revoke probation. He was booked in at PCJ.

Greencastle Fire Dept.

Greencastle firefighters reported three runs recently.

* At 4:31 p.m. Thursday, firefighters went to SAE fraternity, 509 S. Locust, for a false alarm. At 4:43 p.m. they returned to station.

* At 10 p.m. Thursday, GFD returned to SAE for a false alarm. They were back on station at 10:15 p.m.

* At 12:37 p.m. Friday, firefighters went to 605 S. College where construction on the Performing Arts Center set of an alarm. They returned to station at 12:42 p.m.
