Mabel M. Herbert, 95, Cloverdale, died Saturday at Summerfield Healthcare Center, Cloverdale.

Born in Shaddock, Okla., she was the daughter of Lora E. Buis and Mary Wolket (Hammond) Buis.

She as a 1930 graduate of Belle Union High School, and was a homemaker. She was a 50-year member and past Worthy Matron of Cloverdale O.E.S. 369. She was a member of Past Matrons Club and the Dine and Chat Club, and a member of Putnam County Farm Bureau, for which she was Past Women's District Director of nine counties for 15 years.

She married Glendon W. herbert on Nov. 9, 1935. He died April 11, 1996.

Surviving are a niece, Eloise Wieneke and husband Ron, Indianapolis; and nephew Percy Joe Hamblen and wife Dorothy Jean, Cloverdale.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters Lorene DeWeese and Dana Hamblen, a niece and a nephew.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale, with Rev. John Nees officiating.

Burial will be in Cloverdale Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
