Ag Week activities

National Agricultural Day (week) occurs every year on the first day of spring and honors agriculture for providing safe, abundant and affordable products, a strong economy, and sources of renewable energy and job opportunities.

This year's calendar includes a Pancake and sausage breakfast on Tuesday, March 18 from 6-7 a.m.

Tickets are $1 per person with all proceeds benefiting Putnam County agriculture.

A breakfast program will follow from 7-8 a.m. with Steve Jackson, Crossroads Horse Arena, and awards for the Ag Hall of Fame, First baby animal in 2008 and the photo contest.

On Wednesday, March 19, the Putnam County Field Day will take place from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The Rotary/Kiwanis "Ask a Farmer" to Lunch will take place from noon to 1 p.m.

Thursday, March 20 the Mini-Farm Fest will take place from 3:30-6:30 p.m. It features a petting farm, booths, activity stations, prizes, food demonstrations, hayrides and more.

All events will take place at the Putnam County Fairgrounds.
