Hospital grounds workers will treat their own injuries
Putnam County Hospital ground workers will now be taking a course in first aid.
The hospital board approved this training to keep workers from using the emergency room for minor cuts.
This will allow workman's compensation to be cut saving the hospital an undisclosed amount.
The workers would triage themselves for minor things that would normally be taken care of by a first aid kit.
