DPU swimmers finish 11th at NCAA finals

OXFORD, Ohio -- Following another record-setting day, DePauw men's swimming wrapped up an 11th-place finish at the NCAA Division III Championships.

DePauw's 400-yard freestyle relay of John Cook, Josh Baugh, Steve Klabak and Rob Alexander finished the meet with a fifth-place showing in a school-record time of 3:02.41 which was good for all-America honors. The relay established the record in the prelims in 3:03.44.

With that showing, the Tigers clinched an 11th place showing with 126 points.

Earlier on Saturday evening, Cook earned all-America honors with a seventh-place showing in the 100 freestyle in 45.24 seconds. He broke the school record in the prelims with a swim of 45.17 seconds.

Alexander picked up honorable mention all-America after finishing 11th in the 100 free in 45.49 seconds.
