Project Learning Tree sets home school workshop

Tuesday, March 25, 2008

Project Learning Tree (PLT) will conduct a home-school educators workshop on Friday, May 2 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hilltop Pavilion at Lieber State Recreation Area.

PLT is an environmental education, designed to support and enrich a variety of teaching and learning opportunities. It is a rich source of hands-on interdisciplinary instructional activities.

During the workshop children will participate in the morning with Lieber SRA interpretive naturalist, Vicki Albietz. During the same time the adults will be introduced to the PLT activity called "guide and experience."

In the afternoon, children will re-unite with adults where more participant led activities will take place.

The workshop will take place regardless of weather. There is no fee for the workshop and participants should bring a lunch. Children must be 5 years or older to attend. For more information or to register call 317-562-1338 or email nrec@drn.in.gov.
