The Humane Society of Putnam County will host a fundraiser, Feasting for our Furry Friends, on Monday, April 14 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Almost Home restaurant in Greencastle.

Humane Society volunteers will serve as guest waiters and waitresses for the night. All their tips from the evening will be donated to the shelter.

The evening will also include a silent auction, with items ranging from a race package valued at $450 to original works by local professional artists. Bidding will begin at 50 percent off retail value.

Individuals can place bids on items during Almost Home's regular business hours on Monday, April 14. Bidders need not be present at the dinner to win.

"All monies raised at the event will go to shelter operations," said Lynn Bohmer, a Humane Society board member.

The shelter does not receive any county or city funding so they rely on fundraisers such as this one to keep their doors open.

Plenty of pictures of the shelter's animals will also be on display for the event.

Reservations are required for dinner. Please call Almost Home at 653-5788 to make a reservation for the night.
