North Putnam golf wins three-way match

CRAWFORDSVILLE -- North Putnam picked up another couple of wins in a triangular golf match Tuesday night.

The Cougars shot a 158 to Southmont's 166 and Western Boone's 170 at Crawfordsville Country Club.

In a consistent effort, all four of North Putnam's scorers were within three strokes of one another. J.J. Burns was medalist with a 38. Austin Malayer was just behind at 39. Jeremy Redman added a 40 and Patrick Byrd shot 41.

Three of the opposing golfers shot 39 to finish just behind Burns, but no other team matched the consistency across the board of the Cougars.

Aaron Vondersaar finished just outside the scoring for North Putnam with a 43.

Josh Mitchener shot a 70 for the Cougars.

North Putnam is back in action when it travels to Oak Ridge for a matchup with county rival South Putnam at 4:30 p.m. today.
