CRAWFORDSVILLE -- The North Putnam girls' softball team was narrowly defeated by Crawfordsville, 2-1 on Friday night.

Freshman Taylor Judy had another strong outing, pitching six innings and allowing two runs, two hits while striking out 12.

Ashley Curry collected three hits, including two singles and a double. She accounted for North Putnam's only RBI of the night. Judy recorded two hits, a single and a double, in the loss.

Crawfordsville grabbed the lead for good after Judy hit a batter to put her on. The runner stole second and then was brought home after a base hit to win the game.

"We played real well again," North Putnam head coach Jim Brothers said. "We had the lead and then we had a unearned run that tied it."

The Cougars will travel to South Putnam to face the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Monday.
