Putnam County Jail

One person was booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

* James Roe, 25, Reelsville, was booked at 12:38 p.m. Monday as part of a petition to revoke probation.

One accident was reported recently by the Putnam County Sheriff's Department.

* On April 26 at 10:40 p.m., Shawn Storm, 23, Roachdale was traveling southbound on CR 500 East.

According to a witness, he was traveling at a high rate of speed and failed to stop at the intersection with U.S. 36.

He then traveled across both lanes of U.S. 36 hitting an embankment causing him to go airborne and strike a tree.

The vehicle traveled around 165 feet from the south fog line of U.S. 36 to its resting position. After being transported to Hendricks Regional Hospital, his Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) came back as .24 percent. Following treatment, he was transported to Putnam County Jail.

Damage was estimated between $2,500 - $5,000.
