Richard Wayne Austin, 76, Greencastle, died Monday.

Born in Greencastle, he was the son of Fisher and Maggie (Turner) Austin. He married Juanita Morgan Greenlee Austin on Dec. 10, 1963, and she survives.

He retired in 1976 after working as a pipefitter and welder. He was a 55-year member of the Local 157 Union, Terre Haute. He was a member of Moose Lodge No. 1592 and the National Amateur Trapshooting Association.

Additional survivors include five children, Edward W. Austin of Lafayette, Judy Beil Gibson of Janesville, Wisc., David L. Greenlee of Crestwood, Ky., and Ronald D. Greenlee and Marsha G. Jones, both of Crawfordsville; three sisters, Katherine Cataland of Rio Rancho, N.M., Carolyn L. Parker of Madisonville, Ky. And Christine Williams of Bushnell, Fla.; two brothers, Donald R. Austin of Crawfordsville and Ronald K. Austin of Madisonville, Ky.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Frances L. Pfeiffer, Wanda Jean Austin and Alice Mae Austin; and a brother, Robert E. Austin.

There will be no services at this time. Burial will be in Brick Chapel Cemetery.

Memorials are to Greencastle Presbyterian Church or the charity of the donor's choice.
