Class fosters the arts

Kay Earning, Inez Sisley and Adeline Knoy get some instruction from art teacher Donna Harcourt during their weekly art class at Autumn Glen.

Once a week, Donna Harcourt heads to Autumn Glen at Greencastle to work with 14-20 students on art projects.

"We do painting, paper crafts, gallery glass and water color projects," said Harcourt.

The groups were painting birdhouses Thursday afternoon with help from Harcourt and Activity Director Janet Burdge.

"The residents meet me out in the hallway every week, they can't wait to see what we are going to work on. They really enjoy this class," said Harcourt.

Once the birdhouses are finished, the residents may hang them outside, keep them in their rooms or give them away.
