South JV wins county softball

Wednesday, May 21, 2008

The South Putnam JV Softball Team ended it's near-perfect season on Saturday by winning the Putnam County Tourney for the second year in a row.

The Eagles dominated Cloverdale in the first game, beating the Clovers 10-0. In the championship game South defeated North Putnam 6-1.

South Putnam Coach Heather Perkins, had nothing but good things to say about her team this year.

"They are a hard working, positive group of girls," Perkins said. "They gave 100 percent every time they stepped onto the field. Our only loss came earlier in the season to North Putnam, so it was great to see them come back and win such a big game."
