Putnam County Jail

Several people were booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

* James Beaman, 23, Greencastle, was booked at 4:21 p.m. on Friday for failure to appear and domestic battery.

* Ray Jarrett, 38, Brazil, was booked at 10:20 p.m. for operating while intoxicated.

* Bradley Andis, 48, Newton, N.J., was booked at 1:49 a.m. Saturday for operating while intoxicated.

* David Parrish, 41, Cloverdale, was booked at 2:14 a.m. for failure to stop after causing damage, false reporting or informing, criminal recklessness, obstruction of justice and reckless driving.

* Jacob Parrish, 18, Cloverdale, was booked at 2:50 a.m. for false reporting or informing, criminal recklessness and failure to stop after causing damage.

* Loren Ross, 26, Greencastle, was booked at 3:07 a.m. for operating while intoxicated.

* Mary Collins, 18, Avon, was booked at 5:11 p.m. for possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

* Thomas Tichenor, 45, Indianapolis, was booked at 9:06 p.m. Sunday for operating while suspended, refusal to submit to a chemical test and boating while intoxicated.

* Darin Laird, 39, Kokomo, was booked at 10:30 p.m. for operating while intoxicated.

* Kimberlie Neal, 33, Greencastle, was booked at 11:39 p.m. Monday for operating per se, public intoxication and tow counts of operating while intoxicated.

* Timothy Miller, 38, Greencastle, was booked at 12:46 a.m. Tuesday for resisting law enforcement and public intoxication.

Sheriff's Department

Several accidents were investigated recently by the Putnam County Sheriff's Department.

* On May 17 at 6 a.m., Christopher Morton, 20, Knob Noster, Mo., was westbound on Interstate 70 when a deer ran in front of him and he was unable to avoid hitting it.

Damage was estimated between $5,000 - $10,000.

* On May 19 at 8:50 a.m., Marjorie Miller, 68, Greencastle, looked off the roadway when her front tire left the road sending her over an embankment and hitting a guy wire on an electric pole on C.R. 125 South.

Damage was estimated between $1,000 - $2,500.

* On May 22 at 8:44 p.m., Matthew Gurney, 17, Roachdale, was heading out of the North Putnam High School parking lot. He tried to spin his tires and the accelerator stuck sending him out of control across C.R. 250 East into a ditch and hitting a telephone pole. He and his passenger were both transported and released from Hendricks County Hospital.

Damage was estimated between $2,500 - $5,000.

* On May 23 at 6:49 a.m., Jamie Woodard, 38, Fredricksburg, Va., was on Interestate 70 when a deer ran in front of her and she was unable to avoid hitting it.

Damage was estimated between $1,000 -$2,500.

* At 8 a.m., Randy Soriano, 16, Coatesville, was going around a corner on C.R. 725 East when the backend broke loose. He tried to correct it and ended up overcorrecting hitting a tree.

Damage was estimated between $2,500 - $5,000.

*?At 10 a.m., Sharon Blayeds, 56, Reelsville, was on U.S. 231 near U.S. 40 when a deer ran in front of her and she was unable to avoid hitting it.

Damage was estimated between $750 - $1,000.

* On May 24 at 3:19 p.m., Shad Morris, 33, Westerville, Ohio., wrecked his motorcycle into a ditch on Heritage Dr. Rd., and was thrown from the vehicle. He was transported to Hendricks County Hospital.

Damage was estimated between $1,000 - $2,500.
