KEEGAN McLAUGHLIN, a religion major, graduated recently from Wabash College, Crawfordsville. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Keith McLaughlin, Roachdale and received a bachelor of arts degree on May 11.

JADA BUCHANAN recently represented Ball State University's Department of Journalism at Butler University's Undergraduate Research Conference.

This conference offers students from a variety of disciplines the opportunity to present the results of their research.

Buchanan's research project was titled "Should the American Horse Slaughter Prevention Act be Passed?"

Buchanan just completed her sophomore year majoring in public relations. She is a graduate of South Putnam High School and the daughter of Jim and Valerie Buchanan.

PHYLLIS LEGAN, is one of 30 of Indiana's top farmers and agribusiness men and women who have been selected to participate in Class 13 of the Indiana Agricultural Leadership Program (ALP), sponsored by AgriInstitute.

During the two-year program, ALP class members will attend 12 seminars held throughout Indiana, travel to Washington, D.C. to meet with national leaders and spend 10 to 14 days in a foreign county studying international issues.

Legan is co-owner of Legan Livestock and Grain Inc. Her involvement at the community level is extensive and includes the Putnam County Extension Board, Putnam County Soil and Water Conservation District, Farming in the Classroom, Indiana Farm Bureau and Putnam County Ag Week.

Three Putnam County students made the dean's list at Franklin College for the spring 2008 semester.

To be named to the list, students must earn a 3.5 grade point average or better.

KAITLYN ELIZABETH HAMMOND, a freshman, is the daughter of Wes and Janice Hammond of Greencastle.

WAYLON W. HIGGINS, a senior, is the son of Jerry and Sandy Haltom of Cloverdale.

CASSANDRA GAYLE MITCHELL, a junior, is the daughter of Donna Hargett of Greencastle.

South Putnam High School seniors MORGAN CHEATHAM and WHITNEY WARREN have been named as the recipients of the Indiana Council of Teachers of Mathematics Awards for Excellence in Mathematics for the 2007-08 school year.

CASSIE MITCHELL, daughter of Donna Hargett, Greencastle, was recently inducted into the Language Honor Society at Franklin College. Mitchell is a French major.

CHRISTOPHER HUMPHRIES, BRITTANY STRATMANN, and DANA WHITAKER of Coatesville and LINDSAY LITTRELL and BRITTNEY LIVESAY of Greencastle were named to the dean's list at Ball State University for the spring 2008 semester.
