KNIGHT

Alfred L. Knight, 73, Brazil, passed away at 9:30 p.m. June 7, 2008 at his residence following an extended illness.

He was born June 11, 1934 in Terre Haute to James and Bonnie (Archer) Knight.

He graduated from Brazil High School in 1952 then attended Indiana Central College, now the University of Indianapolis.

On July 24, 1954 he married Ramona Clarke. Alfred worked for IBM in Greencastle for 30 years, retiring in 1987. As a retirement career he enjoyed working as a fishing guide at Dale Hollow Lake in Tennessee.

He was a member of Union United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, traveling, vacationing with his family and watching his grandkids ball games.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother Rex.

He is survived by his daughters Pam Ferris and husband Les of Brazil, Katrina Watson and husband Jeff of Bainbridge; son Dr. Timothy Knight and wife Elaine of Paoli and Jim Knight and wife Susan of Reelsville; grandchildren: John, Rob, and Chad Bridgewater, Tammy Curley, Cyndi Georres, Heather Leone, Joran and Tara Ferris, Tony Bauers, Trellis and Trent Knight, Codi and Derric Meeks, Tyler Watson; 12 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at Lawson-Miller Chapel, Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dennis Alstott officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Finchum, Tom Burk, Jack Huddleston, Don Donath, Raymond Chamberlain, and Dr. Gary Nesty.
