Sandra K. Burkett

Sandra Kay Burkett, 62 of Greencastle passed away Thursday at Putnam County Hospital.

Mrs. Burkett was born Feb. 27, 1946 in Indianapolis to Clarence McCammack and Esther Jackson. She was a graduate of Cloverdale High School with the class of 1965.

She married Melvin D. Burkett on May 26, 1978 and he survives.

She had been a homemaker and worked in housekeeping for eight years at the Greencastle Nursing Home.

She was a member of the Moose Lodge No.1592, Greencastle.

Also surviving are six children and their spouses, Brian and Sheri Ricketts of Fort Wayne, Brad and Kia Ricketts of Temple Hill, Md., Kathy and Lonnie Morlan of Fillmore, Bret and Carla Ricketts and Eric Burkett, all of Greencastle and Brannon Ricketts of Broadripple; a sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Ken Glover of Greencastle; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Darrell and Teri Jackson of Greencastle and Cliff and Phyllis Jackson of Terre Haute; mother-in-law, Alberta Burkett of Jamestown; and 11 grandchildren.

Her parents and a granddaughter, Destiny Ricketts, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Bittles & Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, with the Rev. Ernie Phillips officiating. Calling will be Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, with a Women of the Moose memorial service at 7 p.m.

Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
