Putnam County Jail

Several people were booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

Maxwell New, 19, Greencastle, was booked at 2:33 p.m. Friday for possession of alcohol by a minor and possession of marijuana.

Michael Anvoots, 19, Greencastle, was booked at 10:17 p.m. for possession of alcohol by a minor.

James Lewis, 29, Kingman, was booked at 11:42 p.m. for non-support of a child and writ of body attachment.

David Dinn, 35, Greencastle, was booked at 12:52 p.m. Saturday for domestic battery.

Monty Atterson, 50, Brazil, was booked at 12:20 a.m. Sunday for public intoxication, operating while intoxicated, operating per se.

Corey Link, 42, Greencastle, was booked at 12:13 a.m. Monday for receiving stolen property, auto theft, operating while intoxicated, failure to stop after an accident, operating per se and possession of a controlled substance.

Sheriff's Department

One accident report was turned in recently at the Putnam County Sheriff's Department.

On June 22 at 6:21 p.m., K.J. Vandermark, 33, Greencastle, was on C.R. 400 East near U.S. 40 when a horse ran in front of him and he was unable to avoid hitting it.

Damage was estimated between $1,000 - $2,500.

Indiana State Police

Lieutenant George Schneider, Commander of the Putnamville State Police Post, has released the traffic and criminal results for May, 2008. The Putnamville District includes Morgan, Hendricks and Putnam counties.
