AT&T Cell Phone Tower Outage Fixed?
A cell phone tower around Bainbridge owned by AT&T has been out since Monday.
According to a media spokesman from AT&T, the issue was resolved Wednesday afternoon. He reported that various tests were run and came back showing the service was fully restored.
"Some of AT&T's wireless phone customers in the Greencastle area are currently experiencing intermittent service issues. AT&T technicians are working to restore service to customers as quickly as possible," AT&T Media Relations Representative Chris Bauer said.
Though some local AT&T customers are reporting the issue is not yet resolved.
Jason Hartman of Bainbridge said, "I can get text messages but when I call someone all I hear is an echo of my own voice. When I called AT&T they stated there was no problem."
Other AT&T Wireless subscribers are reporting the same sort of problem with both the service and AT&T's report of there being no problem.
The Federal Communications Commissions told the Banner Graphic that they have had no reports of this outage.
Thursday afternoon, customers are beginning to report their phone service is returning to normal.
If the problem persists, continue calling AT&T wireless at (800) 331-0500 and reporting the issue.
