Sherman Johnsen

Sherman Edward Johnsen, 87 of Reelsville, died Saturday morning at his residence.

Born July 23, 1920 in Minneapolis, he was the son of John and Olga (Johnson) Johnsen. He married Kathryn (Polk) Johnsen on Nov. 6, 1942 and she preceded him in death on Sept. 7, 2006.

Mr. Johnsen received his undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota and his post graduate degrees from Purdue University. He had worked as a Systems Analyst with the Allison Division of General Motors for 25 years, retiring in 1985.

Survivors include his children and their spouses, Russ Johnsen of Reelsville, Eileen Sims of Lebanon, and Jerry Johnsen of San Antonio, Texas.; a sister, Ardys Johnson of Minneapolis; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and a brother.

No services will be held. Bittles and Hurt Funeral assisted with arrangements.
