Arlyn Walker

Mr. Arlyn T. Walker age 87 of Belle Union, passed away Monday at the Putnam County Hospital.

He was born July 31, 1920 in Cumberland County, Ky., the son of Luther and Joan (Walden) Walker. On Feb. 5, 1944, he married Agnes (Thompson) Walker and she survives.

Mr. Walker had worked at Dean Brother's Pumps in Indianapolis, retiring in 1982 after 34 years of service. He had also farmed in Putnam County.

Survivors include: his wife, daughter, Donna Schmalix and husband Thomas, Belle Union; brother, Harlin G. Walker and wife Ruby of West Newton; two grandchildren, Steffanie Hornback and husband Steve of Belle Union, T. Patrick Schmalix and wife Ginny of Kodiak, Alaska; three great-grandchildren Cale and A.J. Hornback and Matthew Schmalix.

He was preceded in death by: two daughters, Helen Walker and infant Karen Walker; three sisters and four brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Walnut Chapel Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Donor's local Humane Society or the Putnam County Foundation.
