Supt. Robert E. Green, Superintendent of the Greencastle Community School Corporation, has announced the following information for the opening of the 2008-2009 school year for the Greencastle schools.

Registration for all grades and schools will be held August 7 at Deer Meadow Primary School from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Payment for textbooks is due at the time of rental. MasterCard and Visa credit card services will be accepted for payments.

Individuals unable to pay at the time of rental must make arrangements with the building principal for payment.

A minimum payment of $5 is due upon registration.

High school students may pick up schedules during the textbook rental dates.

All building principals, counselors, school nurses, school lunch director and transportation supervisor will be at Deer Meadow that day should parents have any questions.

Student-Parent Guides will be available for all parents of students of the Greencastle Schools at registration for textbooks.

August 13 is a teacher in-service day and students will return to school on Thursday, August 14. This is a full day and buses will run on the regular schedule.

A birth certificate or hospital certificate as proof of the child's age must be provided if they do not bring a certificate to registration. Medical forms may be obtained from the school principals.

All children in kindergarten and first grade must be immunized against Hepatitis B for enrollment in the upcoming year. Students need to have completed or be on a schedule for the three dose series as a requirement to enter kindergarten and first grade.
