Putnam County Jail

Several people were booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

* Aaron Free, 21, Indianapolis, was booked at 4:01 p.m. Wednesday for battery and disorderly conduct.

* Michael Bastin, 36, Greencastle, was booked at 8:38 p.m. for violation of probation, disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

* Kenneth Buford, 25, Gosport, was booked at 2:39 a.m. Thursday for operating a motor vehicle never having an license.

Sheriff's Department

One accident report was turned in at the Putnam County Jail recently.

* On July 16 at 4:35 p.m., Ryan Mann, 26, Cloverdale, was approaching the intersection of C.R. 475 East and C.R. 800 South near Cloverdale when Shawn Smith, 23, Poland, entered the roadway and Mann was unable to avoid hitting him.

Damage was estimated between $5,000 - $10,000.
