Putnam County Jail

Two people were booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

Mark Albright, 23, Roachdale, was booked at 4:22 p.m. Tuesday as part of a petition to revoke probation.

Chad Lancaster, 21, Greencastle, was booked at 3:54 a.m. Wednesday for operating while intoxicated and public intoxication.

Sheriff's Department

Two accident reports were turned in recently at the Putnam County Sheriff's Department.

On July 31 at 4:38 p.m. Darrick Grunlock, 17, Coatesville, was southbound on U.S. 231 near Franklin Road while Amanda Combs, 22, Greencastle, and Michael Stephens, 47, Danville were stopped at the light. Grunlock's brakes failed causing him to hit Combs forcing her into Stephens.

Damage was estimated between $10,000 - $25,000.

On Aug. 7 at 8:56 p.m. Jon Taggart, 17, Coatesville, was northbound on CR 775 East. While trying to round a corner, his tires couldn't gain traction due to them being bald which caused him to flip into a creek.

Damage was estimated between $2,500 - $5,000.
