Wednesday, August 20, 2008

The City of Greencastle is celebrating the one-year anniversary of its Smokefree Air Ordinance with a performance by Soul Bus September 3 at 7:30 p.m. at the Fluttering Duck.

September 1 marks the one-year anniversary of the implementation of the smoke-free ordinance.

Soul Bus, featuring Tad Robinson, Gordon Bonham, Jeff Richmond, Jeff Chapin and David Murray, is proud to play the Take Note event for the city of Greencastle, embracing what a healthy place it is to live breathe, work and play.

The group was named by NUVO Newsweekly the critic's choice for Indy's Best Cover Band in 2007.

Take Note is a grassroots network of volunteers from the music, entertainment and nightclub industries working together to draw attention to a big problem, smoky entertainment venues.

The Fluttering Duck is a venue that prides themselves on providing an environment where performers, entertainers and their audiences can breathe freely.

  • A lot of criticism hits the comment section of the Banner Graphic whatever and group or Goverment Office does but as for me I thank the City for the smoke free ordinance. Now for the store owners and yes I will name Krogers and Wal-Mart could you please get the smokers away from the enterances? And when the employees take a smoke break by the front door it showes alack of respect for your customers!

  • Is this anniversary a top priority for the City of Greencastle. Maybe if they handed out packs of gum on the street corner, I could handle it a little better.
