BRAZIL -- The Greencastle girls' golf squad placed third, behind Danville and county rival South Putnam. Danville finished first with a 203, South Putnam was second with 208 and the Tiger Cubs was third with 219.

Greencastle was led by Chelsea Samuels with a 49, with Katie Hedge following close with a 52. Diane Wokoun and Kristen Hutcheson finished the day with a 59 and Kay Wood shot a 67.

"I was real pleased with Katie's play," GHS head coach Brad Kingma said. "With our inexperience, damage control and limiting the bad holes is something we haven't been good at. She was able to produce her most consistent round of the year."

Medalist Heather Hughes and her round of 40 led the Eagles. Grace Aker recorded a 49, with Sarah Burnham adding a 57, Kelsey Searles 62, Sarah Dobson a 63 and Cierra Perry with a 65.

Greencastle will host Danville and Plainfield at 4:30 p.m. Monday, while South Putnam will host Terre Haute South at 4:30 p.m. Monday
