Greencastle golfers nipped by Edgewood
ELLETSVILLE -- The Greencastle girls' golf team was narrowly defeated by Edgewood 221-224, with Chelsea Samuels taking medalist honors in the match.
"We shot the ball better tonight than last week," GHS head coach Brad Kingma commented. "We let this one slip away by not converting our scoring opportunities on the greens. We only had one par as a team as we three-putted every other time we hit a green in regulation."
Samuels shot a 49 to lead the Tiger Cubs, with Katie Hedge adding a 55 and Diane Wokoun shot a 58. Kristen Hutcheson shot a 62, Kay Wood a 68 and Michelle Nguyen carded an 82.
Greencastle will host Mooresville at 4:30 p.m. today.
