The South Putnam Eagles Junior High football teams earned a split with the Speedway Sparkplugs Wednesday.

The seventh grade team was victorious against the Sparkplugs winning 13-6. Leading the scoring attack for the Eagles was Sawyer Arnold behind some great blocking from the offensive line and receivers. Arnold scored two touchdowns and kicked an extra point in the win.

Defensively the Eagles were led by Rudy Harris, who made several tackles. The defensive line also played great for the Eagles. The seventh grade record is now 1-1.

The eighth grade team lost 44-0, bringing their record to 0-2.

Both teams will be in action next Thursday when they host Cloverdale.
