Sheldon D. Hurley, 73, of Greencastle died on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008.

Mr. Hurley was born on Aug. 30, 1935 in Kokomo to Homer A. and Beulah M. Weaver Hurley.

Sheldon attended school in Wallace and graduated in 1954 from Greencastle High School. Mr. Hurley served as a minister of the Greencastle Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses for 51 years. He was also a farmer, and was active in new construction and remodeling of Kingdom Halls and participated in international disaster relief work.

His father preceded him in death.

Surviving are his wife, Jane Hurley; mother, Beulah Hurley; daughter, Alisa Calhoun and husband, William; son Bret Hurley and wife, Beth; brother, Ronald Hurley and wife, Nancy; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and a large family of friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday Sept. 28, 2008 at 6 p.m. at the Greencastle Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 104 North 10th Street, with Brother Mike Bowman of Terre Haute officiating.

The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until time of services on Sunday at Kingdom Hall. Private family burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery next to the family farm.
