DPU volleyball sweeps weekend matches

JACKSON, Miss. -- DePauw volleyball improved to 17-6 overall and 6-2 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference after defeating Rhodes and Sewanee Sunday. With the wins, the Tigers extended their win streak to six straight.

DePauw defeated Rhodes 3-1 (13-25, 25-17, 25-20, 25-14) and then blanked Sewanee 3-0 (25-12, 25-6, 25-13).

In the Rhodes match, Adrienne Cobb led the Tigers with 17 kills, whle Ali Smith had 37 assists and Emily Smth 36 digs. Cobb finished with five blocks in the win over Sewanee.

On Saturday DePauw topped Hendrix 3-0 (25-9, 25-18, 25-17) and then defeated Millsaps 3-1.

In the Hendrix match, Lauren Sloan paced the Tigers with eight kills, while Emily Smith totaled 17 digs. Adrienne Cobb added seven kills and four blocks.

Cobb paced DePauw with 17 kills in the Millsaps match, while Kristen Chynoweth and Katey Larson each recorded four blocks. Ali Smith led with 39 assists.

DePauw hosts Southern Indiana on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
