John Thompson, 67, of Belle Union, died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008 at Hendricks Regional Health, Danville.

Born June 12, 1941, in Plainfield, he was the son of Clifford Earl and Nora Ida (Rooker) Thompson. He married Marsha (Clearwaters) Thompson on Dec. 28, 1962, and she survives.

He retired as a mechanic from Russell's Trailer Service in Indianapolis and was a member of the Belle Union Little League where he was a coach and sports fan.

Additional survivors include three sons, Troy Thompson and wife Shelly, of Washington, D.C., Trent Thompson and wife Chrissie, of Belle Union, and Toby Thompson, of Belle Union; three sisters, Ida May Guy, of Plainfield, Phyllis Irene Clark, of Plainfield, and LaDonna Sue Clark and husband Gerald, of Centerville; a brother, Richard D. Thompson and wife Karon, of Cloverdale; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, and brothers Norman E. Thompson and Carl Melvin Thompson.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15 at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale, with Pastor Pat Pistelli officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Chapel Cemetery in Cloverdale.

Calling is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
