Howard Rubeck

Howard Richard Rubeck, 81, of Centerpoint, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008 at the Gosport Nursing Home in Gosport.

Born Jan. 16, 1927, in Owen County, he was the son of Clifford Daniel and Mary Pauline (Schroer) Rubeck. He married Pauline (Mikolaitis) Rubeck on May 17, 1947, and she survives.

A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he worked as a clerk for IBM in Greencastle.

Additional survivors include two daughters, Nancy Telgemeyer and husband Tom, of Poland, and Brenda Moore, of Terre Haute; four sons, Richard A. Rubeck, of Centerpoint, Randy L. Rubeck and wife Lorna, of Reelsville, Michael D. Rubeck and wife Donna, of Bowling Green, and Kenneth Rubeck and wife Mary, of Clay City; a sister, Irene Williams, of Poland; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Carol Rubeck and sister Marjorie June Dreher.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18 at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale, with Rev. John Fischer officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery, Poland.

Calling is 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
