DPU men's soccer suffers first SCAC loss

Sherman, Texas -- DePauw men's soccer trailed 3-0 early in the second half and closed the gap with a pair of goals in the final six minutes, but host Austin claimed a 3-2 SCAC win over the Tigers.

Garrett Evans gave the Kangaroos a 1-0 lead at 23:09 with an assist from Luis Castillo before Castillo scored, unassisted, at 43:36.

Austin made it 3-0 on an own goal before Mike Harris knocked in a penalty kick at 84:25. Kaes Kamman rounded out the scoring with 1:30 left on Brian Lawless' assist.

DePauw outshot Austin, 23-10 and held a 5-1 edge in corner kicks. Ted Jacobi recorded three saves for the Tigers, while Austin's Matt Dickinson totaled eight.

The Tigers dropped to 8-2-4 overall and 4-1-2 in the SCAC, while Austin improved to 5-7-1 and 1-4.

DePauw returns to action on Saturday at Centre.
