Sheriff's Dept.

There are still several accidents involving deer being reported to the Putnam County Sheriff's Department.

A deputy was dispatched at 4:57 p.m. Thursday to 298 Jefferson Valley for a crash report. Michael J. Rusie, Coatesville, was traveling southbound on 825 E., when he lost control of his vehicle due to the wet surface. Shelly Thorn, Cloverdale, was eastbound on 525 N., when Rusie's vehicle slid through a 90-degree turn and collided with Thorn's vehicle on the front-left side. Thorn's vehicle was towed from the scene. Rusie drove his vehicle home. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 worth of damages.

Tanni Culberson, Coatesville, was traveling across a bridge on County Road 500 N., when a vehicle driven by Ryan English, Greencastle, attempted to cross the same bridge in the opposite direction. The mirrors on each vehicle collided. There was an estimated $750 to $1,000 in damages.

Joseph Tesmer of Greencastle was attempting to back in to a driveway when he struck a large rock. Damage was done to the right-rear quarter panel and bumper of Tesmer's vehicle. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages. The incident occurred at 6:46 p.m. Friday at 9067 S. County Road 600 E., Cloverdale.

Melissa Muncy of Brazil was traveling on Manhattan Road at 9:47 p.m. Saturday, when she lost control of her vehicle on a left-hand turn due to the slick roadway. She overcorrected, skidded 180 degrees and hit a ditch. Her vehicle landed on the driver side. Steve's towing pulled the vehicle out of the ditch and attempted to start it. When it started, Muncy drove it from the scene. There was an estimated total of $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Todd Eley, Portland, was traveling on S.R. 231, when he was unable to avoid colliding with a deer. Eley was not injured. There was an estimated total of $1,001 to $2,500 in damage.

Lummie Wilson, Terre Haute, was traveling on U.S. 40, when he was unable to avoid colliding with a deer. Wilson was not injured. The incident occurred at 6:35 a.m. Saturday. There was an estimated total of $1,001 to $2,500 in damage.

Jessica Arthur, Terre Haute, was traveling on U.S. 40 when her vehicle collided with a deer. The vehicle was towed by Steele's Towing to Cloverdale. The incident occurred at 8:30 p.m. Saturday in Reelsville. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Brenda Frame, Cloverdale, was traveling northbound on U.S. 231 when she was unable to avoid colliding with a deer. This incident occurred at 5:44 p.m. Sunday in Cloverdale. There was an estimated $750 to $1,000 in damages.

Russell Ladd, Greencastle, was northbound on U.S. 231 at 8:43 a.m. Tuesday, when a deer ran in the path of his vehicle. He was unable to avoid a collision. Ladd was uninjured. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Putnam County Jail

The Putnam County Sheriff's Office made some arrests Tuesday and Wednesday.

Joshua Castetter, 24, Greencastle, was booked at 5:54 a.m. Tuesday for battery and failure to appear.

Gregory Sanders, 30, Greencastle, was booked at 11:39 a.m. Wednesday for violation of home detention.

Frederick Morgan, 37, Shoals, was booked at 12:02 p.m. Wednesday for probation violation.
