Robert Warren Barnes

Robert Warren "Pennsylvania Bob" Barnes of North Cataract Road passed away at home Monday morning, Nov. 17, 2008 of congestive heart failure.

He was born Dec. 7, 1942 at Ellwood City, Pa., the son of Dave Barnes and Helen Jayne Graham Barnes.

He was employed at Townsend Steel and Halstead Copper Industries in Zelienople after high school graduation and worked in maintenance at Cook Forest State Park. He was employed several years with Evenflo-Crater baby bottle factory in Tionesta, Pa. and helped the company set up for six months when the company moved to Georgia.

He was a bartender at the Zig-Zag Restaurant and at the Bull Run Tavern. Later he was in maintenance at Snyder Memorial Nursing Home in Marienville, Pa. until becoming disabled.

Bob loved to hunt, fish and boat. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Indianapolis Colts fan and loved watching NASCAR races. He moved to Indiana in 2006 and loved the Cataract Falls area.

He is survived by a brother, David E. Barnes and family of Ellwood City, Pa.; a sister, Judith Boehm and family of Gibsonia, Pa.; four sons, Robert Scott Schriner, Mark Bailey Barnes, Robert William Barnes and Jeffrey Barnes, all of Pennsylvania; four daughters, Rhonda Breuer, Sherry Lewis, Heidi Kulinski and Jessica Barnes; and five grandchildren, all of Pennsylvania.

He is also survived by two dear friends, Jane Nick of Strattonville, Pa. and Lee Ann Gray of rural Cloverdale, who were his caregivers.

Viewing hours will be Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m. and Donald L. Pearson Mortuary in Cloverdale with cremation to follow.

His family wishes are for a memorial service to be held at a later date in Pennsylvania and scattering of ashes to be in the mountains near Salmon Creek near Marienville (Forest County), Pa.
