RUSSELLVILLE -- Families are invited to stroll under the canopies on Harrison Street from the fire stations to Ron's Gas Station.

Christmas Under the Canopy will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday.

Board the horse drawn trolley for a free ride around town beginning at 6 p.m. at Ron's Gas Station.

Kids can have a picture taken with Santa from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the fire station. Santa will be handing out treats with the free pictures.

A puppet show under black lights will be presented by Calvary Baptist Church. H.O.P.E. or Helping Others Prepare for Eternity is considered a must-see for the entire family. It will be from 7:30 to 8:15 p.m. in the gym of the community center.

Prior to the puppet show, Christmas Under the Canopy 50/50 raffle tickets will be available for purchase. They will be $1 each or six for $5 and can also be purchased at Ron's Gas Station from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The raffle will take place following H.O.P.E.'s puppets.

Under the canopies, windows have been painted and designed by community teenagers. Winners will be announced following the puppet show.

Russellville teenagers will have cups of chili during the event. Free-will donations will be accepted and will help with next year's Christmas Under the Canopy.

Cookies and hot drinks will be served in the town hall.

Children 12 years old and younger can sign up to win a Walmart gift card worth $10. Stockings filled with candy and gifts will be given away to kids 17 years old and younger who sign up.

To win the gift card or stocking, sign up from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the fire station and at 7:30 p.m. in the community building. A stocking and gift card will be awarded to one boy and one girl each.

Cameron Goss, Russellville teenager, will provide Christmas CD music.

Russellville Christmas Under the Canopy committee is hosting the event.
