Town makes last tower payment

Thursday, December 18, 2008

RUSSELLVILLE -- The town has become the proud owner of its water tower. The last payment was sent in November, said Sally McAfee, clerk-treasurer.

It took the town nearly 30 years to pay off the little more than $54,000 water tower loan, which was accomplished early. If the town continued to make scheduled payments, the tower wouldn't be paid in full until 2020, McAfee said.
