Icy road conditions are still causing trouble for Putnam County motorists.

Bruce Schleuser, Putnamville, was traveling west on U.S. 40 at 5:30 p.m. Monday, when he fell asleep. His vehicle struck the face of a guardrail. Schleuser reported no injuries. The guardrail at the scene was severely damaged. Steele's Wrecker Service towed the vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Sharon Mitchell, Cloverdale, was traveling east on S.R. 42 at approximately 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, when she lost control of her vehicle due to icy road conditions. Mitchell's vehicle crossed into both westbound lanes and was unable avoid a collision with a vehicle driven by Sherri Beasley of Poland. Both drivers were transported to Putnam County Hospital. Steele's Wrecker Service towed both vehicles from the scene. There was an estimated $10,001 to $25,000 in damages.

Christopher Lein, Greencastle, was traveling west on S.R. 42 at approximately 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, while responding to a personal injury accident for Putnam County Operation Life. Lein slowed to negotiate a curve and began sliding due to icy road conditions. He collided with a vehicle pulled to the side of the road for the emergency lights. Both vehicles were able to leave the scene and no injuries were reported. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Terry Mathis, Greencastle, was traveling west on U.S. 40 at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, when he lost control of his vehicle due to icy road conditions. His vehicle crossed the road and came to rest in a ditch on the east side of the road. Mathis' vehicle rolled at least once. Steele's Wrecker Service towed the vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $5,001 to $10,000 in damages.

Christopher Wells, Conroe, Texas, was traveling west on I-70 at 3:28 p.m. Tuesday, when he lost control of his vehicle due to the icy road conditions and slid into the guardrail on the north side of the road. Steele's Wrecker Service towed the vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Rafael Leiva, Terre Haute, was traveling east on I-70 at approximately 3:40 p.m. Tuesday, when a previous accident caused traffic to slow. A vehicle driven by Andrew Koeth, Kirtland, Ohio, was traveling behind Leiva and slid into the back of Leiva. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Putnam County Jail

Andrea Sweet, 34, Greencastle, was booked into the Putnam County Jail at 6:17 p.m. Wednesday for failure to appear.

Christopher Schepper, 34, Greencastle, was booked at 11:50 a.m. Thursday for sexual misconduct with a minor.
