Rosemary Barickman

Rosemary Barickman, 80, of Naples, Fla. died surrounded by her family at Avow Hospice in Naples on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2008.

She was born in Greencastle on July 18, 1928, the daughter of Earl and Eliza Sourwine. She was married to Frank W. Barickman for more than 55 years, and he survives.

Mrs. Barickman graduated from St. Mary's Hall in Faribault, Minn. and later received a BA from DePauw University, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.

Rosemary and Frank lived in Grand Ridge, Ill. for 37 years, where they farmed in LaSalle County. They moved full-time to Bonita Springs, Fla. and later Naples, following 10 years as "snow birds." Both are longtime members of the First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs.

Mrs. Barickman volunteered at North Collier Hospital and later at the church's thrift shop. She enjoyed playing bridge and her retirement with Frank and many friends in Longshore Lake, where they had resided since 1990.

Survivors include her husband; four daughters, Julia Barickman, Nancy Brannaman and husband John, Rachel Woodyer and husband Paul and Elizabeth Benson and husband James; six grandchildren, Hannah Bergland, Katie Woodyer, Jon Woodyer, Tyler Kasperski, Keenan Kasperski and Katriel Kasperski.

She was preceded in death by her parents and older brother Phillip Sourwine.

A memorial service was held on Dec. 31 at the First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs.
