South Putnam downs Eels

The South Putnam Eagles seventh and eighth grade teams hosted the Clay City Eels on Monday night with both squads picking up wins for the Eagles.

The seventh grade started things off with a 40-23 victory over the visiting Eels, led by Sawyer Arnold's 20 points.

Also scoring for the Eagles were Wes Riner with 13 points. Next up was Klayton Vittetow with four points. Even Potts scored two points. And Nathan Criss finished the scoring off with one point.

The eighth grade Eagles picked up an impressive victory, winning 49-8, led by Lewie Knoy's 15 points.

The other players scoring for the Eagles were Aaron Parker and JD Briones with eight points each. Justin Bumgardner scored seven points. Next was Jordan Frame with four points. Ryan Chestnut and Nick Scott scored three points each. And Kinser Franklin finished with one point.

The seventh and eighth grade teams will travel to Monrovia to take on the Bulldogs on Thursday with the seventh grade starting at 6 p.m., and the eighth grade starting at 7 p.m.
