Carolyn Rose Thomas

Mrs. Carolyn Rose Thomas, 74, Greencastle, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009 at Heartland Healthcare Center in Avon.

She was born September 12, 1934, in Terre Haute, the daughter of James Leon and Jessie (Higgins) Kelley.

She was a graduate of Otter Creek High School of North Terre Haute class of 1952. On October 16, 1954, she married Jimmie R. Thomas and he survives.

Mrs. Thomas was a homemaker and the owner/operator of the Hen House Beauty Salon in Greencastle for 10 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Greencastle.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Karen Thomas of Indianapolis and Pattie Patten and husband Kenneth of Cloverdale; one son, Robert Thomas and companion, Teresa Haworth, of Indianapolis; two grandsons, Aaron and Matthew Patten.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Tuesday Feb. 10 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at the Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel of Memories in Terre Haute.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until noon on Tuesday at the funeral home.
