John "Jack" Green

John "Jack" Green, 61, of Centerpoint and formerly of Fort Plain, N.Y. died on Monday, Feb. 9, 2009.

He was born on March 27, 1947 in Little Falls, N.Y. to Rexford Dygert and Lelah Madison Greene.

Mr. Green began his 43-year career in baking at Petri's Bakery and owned the business from 1984 until his retirement in 2008.

Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Sandra Green; children, Dr. Jeffrey Green and wife Amy of Paris, Ky. and Dr. Lisa Martin and husband Les of Centerpoint; siblings Ruth Jacksland of Amsterdam, N.Y., William Dolder and wife Marlene of Fort Plain, Marjorie Herringshaw and husband Roger of Fort Plain and twin sister Janet Hudson and husband Roger of Fort Plain; and four grandchildren, Kindria Martin, Zachary John Martin, Kevin Green and Eric Green.

His parents preceded him in death.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bobby Hopper officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
