Local stars preparing to strut their stuff

Rehearsals are underway, and 12 local Putnam County stars are hard at work preparing for the Dancing With the Putnam County Stars competition set for April 4.

The event will take place at the Dixie Chopper Business Center at 6 p.m. The evening will begin with a social hour, silent auction, 50/50 raffle, buffet dinner, and cash bar.

The competition will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will conclude with the selection of the first Dancing with the Putnam County Stars Champion around 9 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased beginning Monday from the following individuals at the following locations: Renee Marsteller at the Putnam County Courthouse (653-1257); Carrie Query at Brad Tucker State Farm Insurance (653-9007); Lora Wood at Area 30 Career Center (653-3515), Bobby Hopper at 719-0410, Wendi Haltom at TZ Elementary School (653-4700); or at the Putnam County Youth Development Commission Office (653-9342).

Tickets are priced at $30 per person or $50 for two. A table of eight can be purchased for $240.

The public is invited to attend and cheer on their favorite star: Tammy Amor, Greencastle Chamber of Commerce; Stacey Baugh, Cloverdale Community Schools; Jana Brothers, North Putnam Community Schools; Sue Murray, Mayor of the City of Greencastle; Elaine Peck, PC Community Foundation; Gail Smith, Almost Home; Rick Alexander, Wal-Mart Distribution; Beau Battin, Res-Care; Jim Ensley, Brewer & Ensley Attorney's; Nick Mourouzis, DePauw University Football Coach; Mike VanRensselaer, Greencastle Community Schools; and Mark Wildman, South Putnam Community Schools.
